A type design using found materials as the foundation. Said foundation consists of medium-sized satin ribbon and nylon string. These respectively contributed rigidity and organic shape, which I wanted to harmonize in the typeface.

My type specimen for my final type, named Strands Display, uses a quote from Haruki Murakami's book The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle. My intent was to juxtapose the visceral quotes with my eye-catching and organic display typeface. The third piece in the triptych presents the typeface in an illustrative manner that reflects the straight and organic components of the typeface itself.
