For many who are caught in the hyphenated area that is being Asian-American, AAPI month is when we celebrate the future put into our hands.
The lonely and overwhelming path an immigrant takes requires fierce hope and determination, and unless you’ve done it yourself, you can’t imagine the courage it takes to permanently leave your home for an unknown future. Immigrants are such strong people, and I hope this important part of the AAPI identity can be celebtrated with the pride & respect it deserves.
