Chase, US Open 2021

For the US Open, Chase came to BUCK asking for a wide range of deliverables, from the sunset depictions of warmth-infused tennis scenes in standard 16 by 9 format, to the thoughtful and elegant tennis ball lob across a thin LED screen on the edges of USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York City. I contributed to the design concepting, refinement for many of these design deliverables. Towards the end, I also provided cel animation assistance.

Chase had already previously worked with BUCK on several other campaigns, and established a stylish but simple visual language that set the tone for executing the design materials for the 2021 US Open.

︎︎︎ The second set of design deliverables I worked on – a challenge simply because it had to be delivered in three different ratios. In order to make all the necessary elements read, a lot of time was spent in composition. Because of the importance of the illustration color style, I made many color iterations.
